I regularly read Katie’s Blog (Mummy Daddy Me) and have been inspired to document our Ordinary Moments, as Katie does. These Ordinary Moments are the everyday, special low key moments, that I want to be etched into my consciousness forever.
Today was such an ordinary day, but I was just struck by how lovely it has been. Monday’s are normally a bit hard, as Mr Hubby is back to work and we can feel a little glum. Today we had nothing planned, but after a little snooze for Baby, we did a little bit of baking. Then we ate our lunch together, which Baby loves as she prefers to feed herself. She thinks it’s great that we eat similar things (sandwiches) and keeps offering me a bite of hers. I had to pop out to post a letter, so we saddled up her wonderful bike and off we set. Just the two of us. After wandering to the postbox, we carried on to explore the area around where our posh neighbours live. Something so simple, but we both had a lovely time. Baby loves looking at leaves and plants and touching them. She seems fascinated by nature. I love the bike for that reason, she can get so much closer to things than she can in her pram. She can really feel part of it, which is sometimes difficult for a buba who still relies on a pram. Then just before bed, when Mr Hubby was getting things ready, she lay in my arms, like a real baby, and stared up at me while I sang to her. Perfect!
So a simple day, one of hundreds to come that will be equally as low key. Despite the lack of grandeur it was so special. Just spending time with my daughter and seeing the beauty of the simple things through her eyes. I hope when she is older we can still enjoy these simple pleasures, baking, walks, just being together.

What a lovely post – the most special moments are usually the unexpected, spontaneous ones 🙂

I love the simple things x
This is so lovely, and it sounds like a perfect day. Some my most favourite days by far with my girls are when we do nothing in particular, I genuinely always prefer them to the hectic days out. x

Thank you. I think our expectations can leave us disappointed sometimes. I love the ordinary things. x
Oh I just love days like that. I think that often the build up to big days can make them a little flat if you know what I mean, that sounds like a perfect day to me. Gorgeous. x
