Our little family always seems to be busy; there is always somewhere we need to be or something we need to do. Then add into the mix the fact that we have been away a fair bit this year, and time at home is in very short supply. Mr Hubby has been working in France a fair bit and is due to go away again this week for two more weeks. We are so grateful for our travel opportunities, however it has mean’t that we haven’t really relaxed at home for ages.
So last weekend we stopped, we slowed down and we stayed at home. We pottered around, ran some relaxed errands and visited the ponies, but there was no urgency to anything we did and that was a welcome change.
Baby enjoyed taking her daddy to see her ride Sali the pony, especially to watch her trotting, which she is really proud of. I enjoyed finding one of the best drinks in the entire world, Vanilla Chai Latte, where has it been all my life?! Seriously it’s amazing! Most of all we just enjoyed being with each other, with nothing else demanding huge amounts of our time.
We let everything take that bit longer. Lazy cuddles on the couch, relaxed lunches and really fun bath times. Bedtimes were stretched out, as we sat together and watched the lights on her ceiling. Tucking Baby and her toys into bed, then just watching her sleep for a while.
We both miss Mr Hubby so much when he goes away, and I can’t say I find solo parenting easy. So it is wonderful to find this time to just be together and enjoy each others company. Such a simple thing to do and something that we should do each day, but somehow it gets forgotten about in the daily rush and under the weight of deadlines and obligations.
To talk to someone and then really listen to the answer, not just let your head fill in the gaps. To wear ALL the accessories, just because… To tickle, until breathless with giggles. To cuddle for what feels like a lifetime, until eyelids are heavy. To laugh until our tummies hurt.
These times should always be cherished and it was lovely to have time to do just that.

There’s nothing like a lazy day. Sundays are pretty much like this eberyw week.
I was a single parent on my first so I totally understand how you feel when hubbie is away working. Solo parenting can be tough!
I love how you cherish the everyday moments, make them special as they should be and record your lovely girl to remember forever. #MagcMoments
what lovely pictures
What does your husband do as a profession, I have never been to France before but I have always wanted to go! I love the pictures of baby she looks beautiful in black and white! x

This is so lovely Aby, I’m glad you had a day off from it all. Sounds like a perfect weekend xxx
What a lovely post. Wish we had more weekends like this.
we love doing just the same in the school holidays. A bit of slow lived time is just perfect.
Sounds like a lovely weekend, sometimes we get too busy chasing our tails and don’t get chance to take in all the little things that mean so much. Chai Latte is one of my favourite all time drinks, I have not tried a Vanilla version! xx

I did work but we didn’t have to rush anywhere and it was so much slower paced than of late. Thanks huni xxxx
I think we all need time to unwind and take the weekends at a slower pace. We always seem to cram so many opportunities in, we forget that sometimes the most simple things are the best by taking the time to enjoy each others company, find out again what makes each other laugh and enjoy the simple times. Gorgeous photos Aby xx
Having some down time is essential when you’re busy isn’t it? Recently we forgot to schedule that in and MOH bless him was run ragged. We’ve just had a weekend of being home and it started with a lazy saturday and brunch, pure bliss.
I love weekends when you have no real plans, no parties, no people to visit. When you can wake up and say to your family ‘what should we do today?’ . The perfect weekend. xxx
This is such a lovely post! The best weekends are the ones with no plans, no rushing about – just relaxing as a family!
we too, seem to be so busy at weekends and after working all week sometimes I just want to chill. Last weekend I had a lazy PJ day with little J and we had so much fun x
Ahhh this is so lovely Aby. I can imagine it’d be really hard to have hubby away so much. It’s really nice that you enjoyed each other’s company last week & slowed down. I need to do that too, things can pile up too fast otherwise. Love the black & white photos of baby!
This is what we did Sunday. We stayed in out pj’s all day until it was bath time. The kids played on the PS£ whilst I read a whole book and crocheted. It was bliss.
You have to cherish the moments you get, however small they are. I hate it when my husband goes away, especially with having 3 children to look after on my own, but the times we are together are great x
Beautiful words especially the last paragraph. Sounds like the most perfect time and I think you needed a bit of a rest huni! That pic of baby with the sunglasses, my word she is such a cutie pie xxxx

Aw I love these photos of Baby, they look amazing in black and white and doesn’t she look a cool dude in her sunglasses?! I completely agree with you, while we love being hectic and going away, or being busy, you just literally cannot beat a lazy weekend. I can honestly say they are my absolute favourites. x
