It’s Theme Game time! The time to be creative and possibly win a little prize too, courtesy of The Reading Residence and Red Peffer’s linky. This week the theme is ‘Animals’.
I have always been an animal lover and animals have played a massive part in my life. I hope they will be a big part of Baby’s life too. I thought I would introduce some animals that have impacted most on me and have made my life immeasurably better.
Introducing Oz
Oz was my partner in crime for eight wonderful years. We learned so much together and ended up competing at Prix St Georges level (Dressage). Devastatingly Oz went chronically lame in 2010 and eventually had to be put to sleep in April 2012. He left a massive hole in my life.
Next up is the lovely Lily. I rescued Lily’s mum and then Lily was born unexpectedly. She spent her first weeks down the front of my coat, as I walked the other dogs, so we have a very strong bond.

Lily and (Mummy) Lou Lou
The dog that started my rescuing habit was Archie. Archie was found wandering the streets and was taken to the vet’s where I worked. He was never claimed, so I was allowed to take him home.
Archie now lives in North Wales with my sister-in-law and is enjoying long walks on the beach and being the most important (only) dog. He still comes to visit regularly and the girls love it when he comes to stay.
These four animals have made my life more fun, richer and I am so grateful to have been/be their owner. Baby is lucky to live with two of these animals and as she grows up I’m sure she and Lily will be the best of friends. I can’t imagine what my life would have been like without these special animals.
