Word of the Week #38

I am linking up with the lovely Jocelyn from The Reading Residence to share my Word of the Week #WotW.

This week my word is…

#WOTW

This week has been a struggle at times.  I have felt clouded by PND, which I have found difficult to shake off.  It still frustrates me, that I feel like this at all.  Baby has been quite difficult to deal with, I think the terrible two’s have started early!  This has meant listening to screaming, crying and lots of tantrums.

We have also been told that Mr Hubby will have to start going away during the week from now until we go to France, so a few days a week he will be in the North.  If I am honest this scares the life out of me.  I NEED him home at 4.30pm everyday.  Further fodder to enhance the blues.

In order to cope with these ‘blues’, I have to be positive and try to shift my focus from the difficult moments to the positive ones.  So I have taken pleasure in creating this weeks Gratitude List, collecting these special memories and celebrating them.  Looking for the gems in the every day grind.

I have also had some great news this week.  After being let down by Lighter Life, who had agreed to help me with my weight loss.  I have found help from another company, Diet Chef.  I will start next week when my meals arrive, I can’t wait!

Which word would sum up your week?

Enjoy my posts? Why not

  1. Oh, I am pleased you’ve had some good news, too, then, and best of luck with the new weight loss plan. It’s tough to always find the positives, but it sounds like you’re determined to do so x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  5. I think I can understand your fears about managing a small child without the support of your husband for periods of time. My son was eleven months when my husband left to work in Libya for six months. He missed his son’s first birthday and his daughter starting nursery.
Being the only go-to for your children 24/7 is exhausting. I’m bipolar and struggle with mood-swings from time to time and I found the best way to stay sane was to be organised. I was adamant about getting them to bed for seven every night because that was when my breaktime started. We also made a giant calendar for each month he was away and marked off each day with a big ‘X’. I think this helped me as much as it did them!
Trust me, you’re stronger than you think x

  6. Glad you found something to help you with weightloss like you wanted. Will keep my fingers crossed you like it – I love the idea of Diet Chef as the meals do look lovely.

I can appreciate where you’re coming from with your hubby being away during the week. Mine moved abroad for nine months for work and I only saw him three times before we uprooted ourselves to join him. I know you’re already feeling vulnerable, but you’ll be surprised how strong you are and how independant you really are. You’ll cope just fine and it’ll make the time you do spend together all the more precious. x

Thank you so much for your comment. I know other have it worse, and their hubby’s are away for longer but it just worries me. I know I will cope because I have to but I just worry about being on my own x

  7. It is so good to see you finding the positives in the negative. Life is not easy. I think that you will LOVE diet chef. I did it earlier in the year and it is so easy to follow. Good luck with it and thank you for linking to PoCoLo 🙂 x

  8. Well done on finding some positives when things seem to be so negative. It will be hard him being away but you will cope and when you stop and realise how well you’re doing you will give yourself a pat on the back. But never be afraid to ask for help even if it’s indirectly. Don’t hide away and panic. Get out in the fresh air and enjoy everything about this season and this time of your life. It’ll be over before you know it x

  10. Well done looking for the positives. 4.30 is my limit too 🙂 My husband does a fair bit of travel too, and it’s hard, but I do find that I get into a routine and it’s always easier than I think it’s going to be xx #WotW

  13. Sounds like it was a mixed week, but good to hear you’re trying to stay positive. My husband works long and strange hours so I do a lot of solo parenting, but you get used to it and I’m sure you’ll cope just fine. Good luck with Diet Chef.
