What I am doing now – A meme

I was recently tagged by the lovely Ryan over at Dad Creek without a paddle in the ‘What I’m doing now’ meme.  A fun idea to give a little snapshot into what you are thinking and doing at the moment.  So here goes!

WIDN

Reading – I have a couple of books by my favourite authors waiting for me on my Kindle, but at the moment I really don’t have time.  I am just getting my reading fix in with my blog reading.

Listening To – Ben Howard and Passenger mainly in the car and the Doc McStuffins song in the house….

Laughing At – Most of the time, we are laughing at Baby, she is quite the comedian!  We do watch a lot of comedy, ‘Live at the Apollo’ that type of thing.

Swooning Over – Jessie Pavelka!  I recently watched ‘Obese: a year to save my life’ and Jesse is the trainer.  Have a look you won’t regret it!

Planning –  Lots of blog things, plus some decorating in our house.  I hate decorating though, so it might stay in the planning stage for some time….

Eating Lots Of – I have not been eating lots of anything in particular, but I have been drinking lots of tea!  Tea is the only thing (family/friends excluded) that I couldn’t live without.  When I was pregnant I couldn’t drink it at all (it tasted horrible!).  So 15 months later I am still making up for 9 months sans tea!.

What I am doing now

Feeling – Really tired.  I seem to have gone into a bit of an exhausted period.  Usually, I am up at 6am with Baby and then I stay up until midnight blogging, but the last few days I have been falling asleep at about 9pm.  Not good for productivity!

Discovering – We recently discovered Wellington Country Park and the Cotswold Wildlife Park, which are both great family days out.

Wearing – Some of my new clothes from my Taking Shape stylist session.

Cooking – I don’t cook, but I do occasionally make scrambled eggs for Baby!  I have baked some flapjacks recently, for a picnic with friends.

Wondering – Where I am going to find lots of Happyland toys for Baby at a bargain price!

Trying Out – I have tried out a Facebook advert for my blog page and it is amazing how many ‘likes’ you can get when people actually see your page!  It is well worth doing every now and again.

So that’s what I am doing right now.  I tag Kirsty and Steph, over to you ladies!

  1. A great idea for a meme. I’m a tea belly too and I went off it while pregnant as well. Tea is the way to my heart x

  2. Yes! Jessie from that Obese program is a hottie!!! I’m feeling the same re being tired – I call it the Britmums Effect. We all got some much info, got really inspired, then made a huge to-do list and now we’re burnt out! I think I might just be coming out the other side but once I’ve finished commenting for today (Mike’s sorting Reuben!) – I’m having a glass of wine and a cuddle because it’s been too long!

I’m so glad you’re FB ad is working out – I’ve become a little bit addicted. I’ve only done it twice but when I earn a little more money I know where it’s going! Lovely to hear a bit more about how you’re doing 🙂 xxxx

I’d never eat again, if you could promise me he would be my trainer! 😉 Yes you are right, we all peaked and now it is the trough! The FB ad is well worth it, thanks for the heads up xxx

  5. I love this meme (I’m still struggling to understand what a meme is). I’m very nosey so pleases me to learn more about my favourite bloggers. What is it with tea and pregnancy? I love a cuppa but when pregnant even the thought nauseated me. Mr H kept on forgetting and making me cups which would be left lying around the flat undrunk. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

Oh thank you. It’s good isn’t it. Yes I kept trying, so ended up with loads of undrunk tea when I couldn’t get it near my mouth! xxx

  6. Advertising your page sounds like a great idea. RE: cooking I have stepped up and am finally cooking more and enjoying it. It’s great when kids are funny isn’t it? They literally are a laugh a minute when not naughty. Great post.

  7. Wow you have over a 1,000 likes. How much of that would you put down to the advert and how much was it if you don’t mind me asking? Liska xx

I have almost 1200 now. The advert gets you about 300 per week I think from memory. I have done two adverts each for 7 days, costing £18 each. Then they place your ad on pages, so people know you are there. They then have to decide whether to click and like. It is not buying likes. It just makes you more visible, which works well. xx

  8. What a fun meme! I’ve been joining in with lots of #WIDN on instagram but I love this meme! It’s so great to learn new things about each other 🙂

  9. Sounds like you’ve been having a nice time of it! I’m really tired too lately and good FB tip, thanks, maybe I’ll try that… I have a lot of likers on FB but only reach about 6 people when I post something there… really weird!! x

Yes FB is so weird, the reach increases dramatically when you are paying for an advert. Might be worth a try, I got 430 ish new likers in 7 days for £18 and the reach was so much better x
