Blogging is totally awesome. For me, it has changed my life and that of my family without a doubt. Whether it’s financial, events, opportunities or connections, blogs can be hugely powerful. With this in mind, I asked a few friends to share the biggest bonus that blogging has given them. For me, it is the friends I have made, life-long amazing friends, who I wouldn’t have found without my blog. Here’s what they had to say;
The friendships. I would never have the friends I now call my best friends if it hadn’t been for blogging mummybarrow.com
I have made some lovely new friends and have reconnected with old ones mummyemblog.wordpress.com
A voice. My friends came because I spoke up and out about my experiences. Through speaking out I changed my career, challenged stereotypes and made friends closer than I could have ever imagined. maxandmummy.co.uk
Yup, friends. Looking forward to the summer holidays to catch up with blogger friends. bugbirdbee.co.uk
The life changing world of blogging has helped me create a lifestyle I only ever dreamed of before. Now I spend quality time with my children, have established incredible friendships and regained the confidence I lost after becoming pregnant. katrinabruni.com
A creative outlet…and constant challenge… familyadventureproject.org
Meeting so many amazing people and no longer feeling alone. It sucked when I moved away and made no friends, but my blog and the Mamaprenuer revolution group has changed my life. mummieswaiting.co.uk
It has completely changed my quality of life. I had a job that made me utterly miserable and now I have a job that makes me happy. It has given me happiness and time with my children. Pretty much what life should be about. someonesmum.co.uk
It’s given me time with my children. I would have been heading back to work right about now if it wasn’t for my blog! mummascribbles.com
Starting my blog got me into writing again and gave me the push and the confidence to quit my awful day job and try and make it as a freelance writer. My blog literally changed my whole life! bobsysmum.co.uk
Experiences for/with my family that we would have never thought about Pinkoddy.co.uk/blog
A fabulous network of friends all over the country. I just wish I could see them all more often! mummyneedswine.co.uk and joskitchen.co.uk
A way to combine all my creative skills so I now have a job that I wouldn’t find anywhere else. scandimummy.com
Given me the confidence to put things down in writing that I didn’t feel able to say out loud. Also it feels like something I can accomplish as Lucy not as a mom/wife/sister etc, just for me mommamack.com
Blogging gave me my confidence back after a crushing redundancy while on maternity leave. I’ve now turned my blog into a full-time job, and have a monthly magazine column and a cookbook deal. veggiedesserts.co.uk

Blogging opened my eyes to a whole new world of fabulous experiences and has enabled me to preserve memories of my son’s childhood. It has also given me what I hope to be, lifelong friends. hannahspannah.co.uk
Starting my blog made me working out so much about computer and technical sides of it. It’s been great to challenge myself and see that I could do it! It also gave me some great experiences with my family thefrenchiemummy.com/

Being able to find a creative outlet that my job does not allow. I love writing and have found my voice through blogging which is really satisfying. Theperfectjuggler.com
The chance to make a difference. Writing about baby loss, and sharing our story, has been such a therapeutic experience and has spurred me on to continue raising awareness and helping others. Every time a message lands in my inbox from someone who has found hope through our story, or comfort during the hardest time of their lives, it reminds me of why I blog. My blog has given me so many wonderful opportunities, and so many amazing friends, but having others speak about my son, to say his name, to know that he mattered? That is priceless. fivelittledoves.com
Blogging has given me a real sense of purpose and drive. It’s given me an identity to be proud of – which sounds like a weird thing to say but so much of who you changes when you become a parent and I feel like my blog helped me hold onto who I was that bit easier. littlepicklesmom.com
Definitely friends! When you’re not able to get out because the kids are in bed and hubby’s at work, the community’s always there being friendly and supportive. Also creativity, a sense of worth and complete and utter passion… virtuallyallsorts.com
The career I wanted when I left college but didn’t know how to achieve. Back then I aspired to be a cookery book writer but now I’m very happy writing recipes and sharing them on my blog getting lovely feedback and questions from my readers. So I’d say blogging has finally given me a sense of fulfilment and I love it. fabfood4all.co.uk
Blogging has given me the chance never to miss one of my children’s milestones and a place to preserve them forever so they can see them when they are older too. It’s also given me a chance to be a role model my children look up to – Emmy now says she grows up and write for a living, aged 7 she is currently having a short story she wrote illustrated for a project we’ve done with Centre Parcs emmysmummy.com
Just going out doing stuff and exploring more with the kids. I now find out about events regularly and so we do more interesting things on our holidays and weekends. It’s so easy and tempting just to ‘hang out’ with the kids. But doing stuff together has created more fun memories and silly moments. justgoplacesblog.com
An amazing chance to be creative rather than simply following other people’s briefs, from writing to photography and videos – plus the fantastic opportunities to test that creative side. mummytravels.com

It’s given me the chance to connect with people I wouldn’t have usually because we don’t live close to each other. Fellow SN parents who just “get” the challenges that we face as our children get older. We’ve also had some fantastic opportunities through blogging AutismMumma.com
Blogging gives me the flexibility to do the school run, go to sports days, all the school events, football games. When I worked I missed so much. So grateful. mrsmummypenny.co.uk
The best thing blogging has given me is the freedom and ability to live life on my own terms. I don’t work for a traditional employer, I’m free to set my own schedule and I’m there for every school run, nativity, dentist appointment. I can express my creative side and learn new skills and the community is amazing. I have made many friends online who ‘get me’ more than my IRL friends did! jugglemum.co.uk
