It’s a family affair – Epson ReadyInk

I’ve previously admitted a dark secret here on this blog. The secret that I’m not always as organised as I appear on the outside.… I know, I know, shocking isn’t it. A few weeks ago I shared how Epson ReadyInk was coming to my rescue with their epic service. Their organisation means if I forget to buy ink…. Hypothetically, of course, they will have already sent it to me. Meaning we will never be without AND we don’t have to rely on my memory! Hooray!

I wanted to update you on how we are finding the ReadyInk service and the epic Expression Photo XP-8500 Small-in-One printer.

In addition to my work printing needs, like scripts for videos, planning documents and the countless other things I personally print. My husband travels quite a lot with work, so he’s always printing of tickets and other travel documents. Then add into the mix Little Miss Ava who is obsessed with colouring, puzzles and cutting things up. The vast amount of kid friendly stuff on the internet means that I can quickly print off whatever she fancies doing and she has it in her little mitts within seconds… o.k. minutes as I have to walk upstairs!

Ava always asks me to print the gorgeous backgrounds so she can then cut them out and make pretty pictures with them.

Hubby works more from his phone than his laptop, so he uses the Epson iPrint app to print directly from his phone. He’s happy as it is quick, easy. He can do it last minute when he’s heading out of the door to catch a flight and realises he hasn’t printed his boarding pass!

Another thing we love as a family is photography and it’s so easy to print our favourite snaps on the XP-8500. I rarely send photos off to be printed, so it’s great to be able to print them right away at home and know that they are going to be great quality. It can print up to 8” x 10”, so they’re a decent size too. There is the option to create custom borderless photo collages from Instagram, which is such a cool thing to do. We send quite a few of these to my mum in the UK. Oh and you don’t even need to fire up the laptop, just pop in your USB or memory card straight into the printer and you’re good to go!

Are you super organised and remember to buy ink refills or would a service like ReadyInk help you out?

  1. Such a fantastic idea, I can see this helping in all areas of my life!
Home Ed – because I’m ALWAYS printing and running out of ink!
Disney Trips and Holidays – because I need to print memories! <– plus those pretty pages would be great for scrapbooking!
Blogging – to print planner pages, your printables and keep me organised!

I'm going to go look into this now, thanks for sharing!

  2. ReadyInk would definitely help me out – although I try to print as little as possible, I still have to print home ed stuff, my partner and I both have to print business docs, event tickets, mindfulness sheets for me and the kids, it’s never ending!

  3. Running out of ink is all the way up there with running out of petrol. We have a chalk board at home with my epic to do list on. I never read it. Who has time for that? Haha. So the ink service sounds right up my street x

Ps I really need to start printing pictures of the boys out. Need to add that to my board, haha

  4. Ahh this looks brilliant! I love how easy it is and those coloured pages are great if you bullet journal too (I imagine… I’m too unorganised to actually journal!)
Ava is the cutest in the video too!

  5. Oh I had no idea there was an app too! I had total office/work envy before, but now it’s going to transform family photography (and maybe clear up some storage space on my phone) – LOVE!

  6. Seriously – what a great life hack! The kids are always asking me to print off colouring pages or things for school and I so often have to say no because we never have any ink. Even when we are out shopping for it we can’t find the one we need for the printer and in the end we don’t print anything – which is sad! With this, I’d be able to print anything the kids need and all the photos that we’ve got stored on the computer and actually put them up around the house. Great idea!

  7. We have something like this and it’s a total game changer! Spreading the cost of ink helps too as it can seem costly in one big go. I love being able to print remotely from my phone. It helps keep Paperwork maintainable rather than have to have a night of it!

  8. I need this in my life! I’m always running out of ink and then having to wait for ink to arrive before I can print things out. Fab that there is an app too so you can print from your phone.
