There’s no doubt that achievement of your goals doesn’t just happen. While a significant part of success is mindset, focus and determination, there are things that can help stay on track.
While some of us love to use pen and paper, often it can be useful to have a tool or app to help too. Interactive tools will be more engaging and so we’ll be more motivated to stay on track.
Goal setting tools to help you smash your goals
- My very own Wrap Party – The Wrap party is a goal setting challenge like no other. A 5 day training with email and video lessons, it ensures you are set up for an awesome year. The Wrap Party assesses your year, helps you set goals, shows you strategies for achievement AND breaks down creating a content strategy to match your goals.
- Google Calendar – I live in my Google Calendar! I love how you can add multiple calendars and grant access to different people. I divide my calendars into personal, get stuff done, Inner Circle, social media, appointments. You can add in a goals calendar and schedule the action steps you need to take to achieve your goals.
- Basecamp – This is really a project management system. It allows you to break down goals into actionable steps and tasks and to allocate different parts of a process to different team members. It will even email you a reminder to do the task.
- Strides app – Tracking your goals efforts will help you keep the goal top of mind and will help you stay motivated. Strides allows you to track and organise everything to build the perfect routine. With 4 unique tracker types, it has the flexibility to customise it to track anything that’s important to you.

- Mint – Need to get your finances under control? Mint helps you set up financial goals, maybe saving for a holiday or to start a business. You can then use the app to track your progress and make projections.
- Goal-Buddy – Is a cloud-based software where you can manage your goals. You’re asked questions about your goals to ensure they are S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, actionable, realistic, and timely) goals. Then you can track your goals through the app making sure you hit your milestones.
- Goalscape – If you like to visualise your goals in pictures, charts, and graphs then Goalscape might work for you. You’ll create a kind of wheel with your goal in the middle and everything you need to do to reach the goal will circle it. So you can see it in one glance.

- VisonBoard.me – This software helps you to create your vision board so you can print it out and pop it where you’re going to see it everyday.
- Lifetick – Is an in-depth goal setting software. You can input goals in four key areas, Individual, Business, Health and Family. You can see how they overlap and work with each other. This software helps you define your core values, and develop S.M.A.R.T. goals as well as track everything.
- GoalsOnTrack – The ethos of this tool is achieve more by doing less. Not unlike Lifetick, but has features that help you break down any goal into reasonable and easy-to-follow steps. The features encompass the 80/20 rule and puts it to work for goal setting and achieving.
- Smart Goals Templates – If you like templates, these are some free goal setting templates that are based on filling in the blanks for your goals. They will help you go over the various goals setting steps needed to achieve results in both your personal life and career and business life.
- Asana – Not strictly a goal setting tool, but a project management system. However, Asana can be a great tool for helping you record and break down your goals. You can even assign tasks to team members to complete and set deadlines.
The important thing is that you visualise what it will be like to achieve your goal. Write your goals down by hand and take action consistently toward your goal. These tools and programmes can help you, but you must be determined to see it though.
Do you have a favourite programme or tool that helps you achieve your goals? I’d love to know which are your favourite goal setting tools?
