Baby’s Messy Adventure & Matilda Goody Bag Giveaway

I have loved reading all my life and when I was a child one of my favourite authors was Roald Dahl.  Baby has inherited our love of books and so we were thrilled to be invited to the Messy Adventure organised by Persil in collaboration with the Roald Dahl team.

The event was organised to highlight a new interactive story app, which brings the Roald Dahl magic to life, by putting your child at the centre of the story.  Free to play, the stories will encourage families to get outside and explore this summer.  The ‘My Messy Adventure’ story can be accessed on a smartphone or tablet

We ventured to London to find out which messy adventure would be awaiting us.

The team certainly got into the spirit!

Our first stop was the park to listen to the story tellers and to create a potion that killed the witch!  Baby found the witch wandering about sniffing the air as little odd.. The story-teller read the Dahl novels from tablets using the app and the children were in control as they were challenged by the characters they met to complete messy challenges and tasks, such as hunting bugs or collecting dry leaves. The path they took determining their journey through the story.

Her demise was very dramatic!

After the story telling it was time for lunch, with delights such as feathered friend pie served with purple mash, dirt burgers, chocolate fudgewhipple wonder, edible worms and blue jelly.

After lunch, we headed back out to the park for an obstacle course.  Baby had to sit it out being only two!

  1. I actually really love his short stories for adults, I have a collection that I re-read over again. Lamb to the slaughter is a particular fave! But my fave kids book is Danny the champion of the world. I love the pheasant chapter!!

  2. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – made such a huge impact when I first read it as a teenager

  3. The Witches was always my favourite but I used to turn the spine inwards on my bookcase at night because it scared me to think about it when I was on my own!

  4. Brilliant books – my daughter loves Roald Dahl, Matilda was the first one she read, she’s making her way through all the others, Magic Finger was another favourite…..

  5. My oldest loves Matilda at the moment. She went to be wishing for magic powers the other night. Lets just say it didn’t work and she wasn’t a happy bunny ha! This place looks amazing!

  6. George’s Marvellous Medicine! I am a massive Roald Dahl fan but that one always held a particular fascination for some reason
