My new blogging space

My New Blogging Space

For a couple of weeks now I have had my own workspace.  No longer am I balancing my keyboard on the arm of the couch, no, I have a bona-fide mini office.  I love seeing people’s workspaces, so I thought I would share mine with you all today

I stole a corner of our living room, that was just a toy dumping ground, so a double win!

My new blogging space

  • Desk – I didn’t really have a budget for this transformation, so I had a look at Freecycle and found the perfect desk just like that.  Such a stroke of luck.  Mr Hubby collected it the following day and by that night I was all set up.  I was so excited!

My new blogging workspace

  • Decorations – My bunting and little hanging flags came from my Blogtacular goodie bag. You’ve got to have bunting, right?!

Accessories to make your workspace pretty

  • Postcards – I love an inspiring postcards and these beauties were 60p each from Paperchase.
  • Fairy lights – I think every desk NEEDS fairy lights and these were given to me by Tiger Stores (£5)
  • Photobooth pictures – These were taken in the hotel we stayed in for BritMums Live and they always make me smile.  Em and I had no idea when it was taking the pictures.

Gorgeous postcards from Paperchase

  • Folders – Selfie design are from Wilko. As is my ‘Stay Cool’ camera mug for my pens.

Folders from Wilkos

  • Jar – I found this huge jar in the Matalan sale for £3.  I snapped it up as a place to keep at the various leads and cables.
  • Noticeboard – I didn’t want to hang a noticeboard from the wall, so I found an unused Ikea frame, ditched the glass and covered the backing board with some left over wallpaper from our living rooms feature wall.  Then I stuck on these cute noticeboard that I picked up from Wilko (they were under £3).  I can then just prop the frame up against the wall and I have myself a cute personalised noticeboard.

Lovely desk accessories

  • Framed photo of my inspiring friends – What blogging desk would be complete without a picture of some gorgeous blogging friends?!  Frame again from Wilco at the bargain price of £1.

So with very little money I now have a space to focus on just work.  It may not be big, it may not be grand, it may not even have its own door, but it is going to help me in so many ways and I love it.

This is not a sponsored post, apart from the fairy lights we paid for everything ourselves.

  1. Love your new blogging space. It’s fun and so cute. I’ve been thinking of setting up a blogging table for myself. My husband bought a table for my arts & crafts, but I never have time for arts & crafts. Would be easy to turn it into a blogging table.

  4. This looks great, we have a desk in our conservatory but it so needs personality, I have just been working out what I can afford from Ikea to jazz it up a little! I think I definitely need bunting now! x

I’m starting a uni course come October and I’m planning on making a desk area for me to be able to do my work/blog off the kitchen table! This has given me a few inspiring ideas – especially that notice board , looks so cool! (I too love seeing other people’s spaced! )
