When I was a child my Dad was very poorly, so we didn’t have many family holidays. Since becoming a mum I have become more interested in travel and have such a strong desire to show Baby as much of the world as I can. I want her to experience different cultures and environments; so family holidays have become the main focus of my day dreaming. Personally, I would love to go to New York, as I mentioned in my 5 Things: To do Before I am 40 post. However, I am not sure New York would be the ideal place for Baby and it certainly wouldn’t give her access to the sort of experiences I would love to see her enjoy. Florida, on the other hand, would be Baby’s paradise and here are the reasons why I think she would love a Florida holiday;
1. Disney World – I think top on any child’s dream destination list would be Disney World. With so much to see and do, it would blow her mind (in a good way!).
2. Busch Gardens® – With its combination of rides, animals, and shows, Busch Gardens would be a fabulous day out. Baby adores animals and she would love to get so close to the Cheetahs.
3. Cocoa Beach – Baby loves the beach and we try to go whenever we can. She has such fun playing on the sand and wading out as far as she can go into the sea. I am sure she would enjoy playing on this beautiful beach. Mummy and Daddy wouldn’t mind it either!
4. Jungle Island – We recently walked through the aviary at Longleat and Baby was thrilled, so I think she would really enjoy the Manú Encounter. Where she would be able to see the animal close up in their natural environment. I am also sure she would like to walk through the Everglades Habitat, which recreates the boardwalk trails of the Florida Everglades.
5. SeaWorld’s Aquatica™ – We haven’t been swimming for ages, but Baby has such fun when she is anywhere near water. This water park would be her idea of heaven, lots of fun water activities and marine life close by. We would both really enjoy the Lazy River. The showpiece, which would please me too, is the Dolphin Plunge® where 2 tubes shoot you through a lagoon filled with dolphins! How amazing!
6. This is SeaWorld® – I think everyone has heard of SeaWorld, but what an incredible experience to give to your child. As we have a soft spot for Penguins, we would love Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, which is a state-of-the-art interactive ride that takes you on a journey into the world of the penguin.
7. Discovery Cove® – More swimming and marine life, but this is really what Florida would be about for us. Being too young to go on the big roller-coasters that fill the theme parks, we would relish in getting so close to the dolphins and stingrays. She would also love to meet the otters and marmosets in the Freshwater Oasis.
8. WetnWild Orlando – A bit more swimming just for luck, in the form of the largest family water play area in Florida. Featuring a six storey Castle and 160 interactive water elements, I think it would be a very jam-packed day spent here.
These wonderful attractions have me completely and utterly sold on a Florida holiday. I would love to see Baby’s face as she experienced all of these places, it would be truly magical for all of us.
Have you ever been to Florida? What was your favourite experience?

It would be amazing wouldn’t it 🙂 x
We so want to take the kids here! We went many years ago, and I think my favourite thing was Universal Studios, but it’d be Disneyworld that I want to take my two to the most and see their little faces light up x

Looks fantastic doesn’t it x
I’ve been to Florida lots of times (it’s our holiday of choice) and we all love it. You’re right, Baby would love it too! Walt Disney World is a truly magical place and kids love meeting characters they’ve only seen on screen. Universal Studios is brilliant for older kids. Sea world is amazing, especially the dolphin shows. The beaches are beautiful and the food is so tasty! We save our holiday ‘credits’ up for three years to go to Florida and are heading there this summer – we can’t wait!
Great post. xx
