Welcome to my weigh in! Regular readers will know I am currently on the Diet Chef plan. If you are interested in the plan, you can find details of all my previous weigh ins here.
I have been quite ill this week with a nasty chest infection, so I have found it a real struggle to stay motivated. Also we had guests at the weekend, so one or two meals were off plan. Not really the week I was hoping for, but these things happen.
I have come to realise how entwined food is with my emotions. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t binge through a weeks worth of food at the drop of a hat. However, there are strong correlations with my emotional changes and the desire to eat. If I feel happy, then I want to celebrate with a nice meal (usually a takeaway) or I feel sad, the urge is there to commiserate with something tasty to cheer me up. The examples go on and on. Now breaking the cycle of rewarding/comforting myself with nice (usually calorific) food maybe harder to correct, than recognising the behaviour in the first place. I think I need to find an alternative ‘treat’ which can replace food. Watch this space!
The other realisation this week for me has been that I need to exercise. Otherwise, as I get smaller, I am going to stay wobbly! The thing that has put me off so far is knowing what I can do without injuring myself. I have numerous back and pelvis issues, which makes some exercise tricky. The other huge limiting factor is time. However, I am starting a fitness programme soon, which will be fully adapted to me, so fingers crossed for a six-pack!
I have shared these pictures before, but I feel the need to reshare them all together, so I can see how far I have come since October.
I am getting ready for my trip to Rome, which I wouldn’t have done before I lost weight.
Weight lost
-1b (total 58 lb total)
Total inches lost (across 10 measurements)
– 0″ (total 67.5″total)
The programme I am on would cost £8.75 per day. However, if you order a 12 week supply this daily cost reduces to £6.61 (this is for all three meals and a snack). Check the website for great offers.
Disclosure: I am being sent Diet Chef hampers in order to review the programme. All opinions are 100% honest and are my own.

You’ve done so well, Aby. Agreed, exercise is very important for toning. Great you’re starting on a programme, so you don’t hurt yourself. It’s also important to find something you enjoy – years ago I’d have thought the words ‘exercise’ and ‘enjoy’ could never be used in the same sentence, but I have discovered it is possible! xx

Aw thank you so much hun. Yes I am looking forward to starting and having the support of a pro will help xx
Well done Aby! Dark chocolate and fresh berries work for when I want to fight cravings. Have you tried yoga or pilates? They are like a miracle drugs for healing back and pelvic issues when done correctly. x
