These boots are made for walking

Baby took her first couple of steps quite a few weeks ago now.  Since then she has been building her confidence and taking a few steps here and there.  Usually when she is in her play pen, once or twice a day she will try out her walking legs.  Her record is four steps in a row.  That was, until yesterday.

She was in her play pen before bedtime and she took a few ‘unaided’ steps, then she just wouldn’t stop.  I began videoing after about 10-15 minutes had passed and, as we watched, we could see her confidence growing.  It was so lovely to see her focusing at the start of each walk; she even started doing corners!  It was as if the penny dropped and she just realised that she could do this walking thing.

I wonder how long it will be before she is running rings round us….. not long I think.

So very proud of our little girl.

(Please excuse our living room, we are waiting for our redecoration following the builders ripping out our coal fire!)

  1. Capturing these moments on camera is such a precious thing to do! I remember watching (& videoing) my eldest take her first unaided steps in absolute wonder, and thinking she was the cleverest little thing on earth 🙂 beautiful #MagicMoment

She even tried running today! It didn’t work. She did manage 19 steps in a row before she went on her bum. The house is really getting me down, the builders left everything in a bit of a mess and every room needs decorating x

  3. Awww, what a great milestone! I rarely get the video camera out and should do more often, really. It is definitely a little family video you will treasure forever. Mel #MagicMoments

  5. Oh yay for first real steps – they’re so exciting! The next few weeks (and months actually) will be magical as she grows in confidence and then goes from tentative steps to toddling and running. Keep that camera at the ready! #magicmoments

I think you’re right! She was strolling across the landing earlier and did 19 steps before she wobbled onto her bum x
