The Bed Bumper Review

Baby recently moved into her big girl’s bed.  We were doing some research into bed guards, when Mr Hubby came across Purple Daisies, The Bed Bumper.  The Bed Bumper is an award-winning bed guard, completely made out of foam.

Caroline kindly offered to send us some to try out.

Bed Bumper

The Bed Bumper is a firm foam wedge, which requires no assembly and is simply placed on the mattress under the sheet.  It fits any bed and is lightweight, so easy to take on holiday with you.  You can even sit on the bumper and won’t damage it, but it acts a soft barrier to keep your little one safe.

I really liked how cosy they made the bed look, I actually wanted to get in myself!  Baby is very active and part of the reason we moved her into a bed was due to how much she was crashing around in her cot.  So we thought these are a great alternative to a rigid bed guard, that we felt she would still bash into.

We have been using the bumpers for three weeks and in that time Baby has fallen out of bed three times.  However, I think she has woken, started to clamber and climb, which has caused her to fall out.  I think she would have done the same if we had been using a traditional bed guard.  With a more traditional guard I feel there is more potential for bumps and bruises.

They come in two different sizes (plus a small extension bumper), the Original (100cm) is £9.99 or £17.99 for two.  We were sent the Mega bumpers, which are 150cm long, are £27.99 for two or £14.99 each.  I think using two is great, if like Baby’s one side of the bed is alongside the wall, as it prevents them banging themselves in the wall, as well as falling out of the other!

I love these bumpers and instead of hearing Baby constantly crashing around her cot at night, we rarely hear a peep.  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these to any parents looking for a bed guard.

Disclosure: We were sent these bed bumpers in return for an honest review.

  1. These look really good! I still haven’t taken Jumpy out of the cot, because I am worried she will fall (and run around instead of sleeping), and I am not keen on bed guards. Something to look into! x
