Walking to Fitness – Pedometer Review

Regular readers will know that I am currently on a weight loss mission.  Having lost 3 stone in 3 months, I am now looking for ways to ensure I keep going at this rate.  Since having Baby, exercise has been a bit tricky for me, due to numerous back issues.  High impact activities are out of the question, so I have decided to try to walk myself back to fitness.

The NHS have a great initiative, which could significantly improve your health; the 10,000 steps challenge.  The average person walks 3-4,000 steps a day, but increasing this to 10,000 can increase your stamina, burn off lots calories and make you feel and look better.  Sounds good to me!

I was sent an Ozeri Razor Digital Pocket Pedometer to review, which was great timing and meant I could be sure of exactly how many steps I was taking.

The Razor is the world’s lightest and thinnest pedometer, less than 0.2″ thick and weighs half an ounce.  It records calories burned, exercise time, number of steps taken and has a sports timer and clock.  Featuring a belt clip, spare battery and clip off short lanyard.

It is great that it is so small and super light, easily popping into any pocket or clipping onto your waistband.   It was ready to go as soon as it arrived, which is great as I have little patience for setting things up.  You even get a small screwdriver so you can change the battery when you need to.

The first time I used it was out on a walk with Baby.

Wow, it is hard to walk 10,000 steps!  Over the next few days I managed to increase the length of the walk and also remembered to clip the pedometer on when I woke up so it recorded all my steps, rather than just on our walk.  Helping me to get nearer to the magical 10k!  Occasionally the pedometer went into it’s autosleep setting, but the steps seemed to still increase, so I was quite confident it was still recording all my valuable steps.

I would recommend this pedometer to anyone wanting a great quality, reasonable priced pedometer, that comes complete with everything you will need to get going.

Disclosure: I was sent this pedometer in return for an honest review.

  1. Oh Wow! I need one of these. I think this would give me that extra boost to get out there and get my body back into shape – 3 babies in under 3 years did things to my body I’m ashamed to even admit – but I love walking and I can see myself really pushing myself with this!

    Great review!
