If You Go Down To The Woods Today….

If you go down to the woods today, You’re sure of a big surprise.  If you go down to the woods today, You’d better go in disguise.

and so we did….

So far this year I have failed in achieving some of the things I wanted to. I was envious of the lavendar field pictures, which filled my timelines and I have been unable to find a local pumpkin field.  So, I decided that I was definitely going to get some halloween pictures. Baby chose her dress and was very happy to be allowed to wear it when we went to local woods.

She adored running around exploring the woods with her Aunty and I.

If she heard others coming she would shout ‘hide’ and head for the bushes, I am not really sure she realised how conspicious she was!

Baby is growing into a fun, feisty and loving little girl.  It is such a blessing to be her mummy.

We chased each other, played hide and seek and Baby even sat in a tree for the first time.

It felt really magical, as the light was fading and my little witch was running around my feet, I was so thankful to have this day with her.

As she grows she will chose not to dress up, the events she celebrates will reduce in number and she will become more difficult to impress; this is inevitable, it comes as part and parcel of growing up, but it is sad nevertheless.  I just want time to slow down, so we all take in the wonder of these years, when she thinks dressing up as a witch and running around the forest is such an amazing way to spend an afternoon.

So while I am sad I missed the lavendar, the poppy fields passed us by and pumpkins are still waiting to be picked, I am so thrilled Baby had her time as a witch.  A wonderfully magical time that we will remember for a long time to come.

  2. Love the photo shooting. The colours are amazing in autumn and she looks adorable in her dress.
We recently took a themed one as well with chloe but I haven’t done any with Matthew.

  3. What gorgeous photos Aby and Baby looks like she is having a wonderful time being a witch in the woods and the light really does make it look quite magical. I think it’s a good reminder to embrace these kinds of moments while they are small enough to want to do them.

  4. How cute are those photos! And what a great idea – like you say, it’s sometimes the simplest things which are hugely exciting when they’re this age. My daughter dressed up as a black cat for her preschool today and was over the moon to have ears, a tail and eyeliner whiskers…

  5. What a great idea and such brilliant, amazing pictures you got. She must have been in her element! Definitely an idea to steal for next year!

  6. I am really impressed with the beautiful pictures you made, very fairytale like! Keep on enjoying those precious moments with you little girl and forget about those lavender fields. You’ve got your own fiesty little witch haunting the woods. 😉

  7. Oh what a bewitching set of beautiful pictures of your little darling! Surely there’s nothing more magical than running around the woods dressed up in your best Halloween outfit is there?!

  8. You have caught some lovely pictures here I hope that some of them make it into frames. Love Baby’s little outfit especially the hat. I think you have more than made up for not getting any lavender pictures. x

  9. These are beautiful photos. Great idea, and so nice to be able to make use of the golden hour. We never get out at that time unfortunately. I do sometimes wish N would dress up but he’s really not keen.

  10. aww what beautiful photos. I have always thought Autumn photos turn out the nicest. There is always so much colour in our park photos with the different colours of the leaves. Love the one of her walking away with her hat on.

  11. These photos are stunning! I love the one where Baby is walking away from the camera – what an amazing shot! The lovely memories of your day will last forever x

  12. Ahhh! I love these! Especially the one from behind where she’s walking to the sun.
So now you have used Lightroom would you turn back? x

  13. Baby is so adorable, the blue of the witch costume looks great with her fair coloring and her eyes just pop. These are incredible photos, did you take them? Love the misty quality of the woods and these deserve to be framed! Love them!
