Last week, when Baby and I were in Wales, we went to the Welsh Mountain Zoo. I know I should have guessed that things would be a little steep…. I mean the clue is in the name… but really, WOW! It was knackering pushing the buggy up those hills! Let’s just say we went up some of the hills VERY slowly. One of the keepers even pushed Baby up one of them, that resembled the north face of the Eiger! Thank you kind keeper!
The setting was amazing, the views were of mountains and the sea, what could be better! I loved seeing the Przewalski’s Wild Horses and Baby did too. She kept looking at me and then pointing to them (as if I couldn’t see a whole herd of horses!).
It is a running joke in our house, that every time we go to our local wildlife park, the Red Pandas (Mr Hubby’s favourite) are always asleep. As we arrived at the Red Panda pen, one casually strolled straight across the pen. By the time I got my phone out it had wandered off, but I made sure I caught a snap to send to Mr Hubby!
We have been in a Lemur walk through before, but nothing quite like this. They were often within touching distance and at one point jumped straight across the path we were walking on. Baby loved having a little toddle around.
Baby thought the Gorillas were pretty cool and we met the friendliest Penguins, who spent ages right up against the glass talking to us.
I don’t think I have ever seen a Brown bear before, let alone be this close. The Sea Lions were also really friendly and kept doing swim-by’s past the viewing window. Baby had never seen a Sea Lion before, so I think she was a little amazed at the sheer size of them.
After a while my dodgy pelvis couldn’t handle anymore hills. So, just before we called it a day and headed home, Baby had a little pottle about on the hill, picking daisies and trying to learn how to ‘do’ hills!
Obviously it would have been a nicer day if Mr Hubby had been with us, not least because he could have pushed the buggy! However, we had a lovely Mummy Daughter day in this beautiful place.

Sounds fab, though the hills would be a struggle for me too – still, you will have earnt yourself a big slice of cake with all that effort!

Thanks hun. It was, such a great place x
You got some great photos. I love zoos where there’s plenty of green space. We are good at zoos in the UK I think – not like some of the concrete, caged filled spaces you see abroad.
