Baby’s New Sandpit

Towards the end of the summer Baby was sent a new Flip Sandpit from Wickey.  She adores building sandcastles in all weathers, and letting her play in a sandpit saves me a long drive to the beach!

It arrived as individual planks of wood (not pre assembled) and I must admit I tried to put it together myself twice, but I couldn’t figure it out.  When Mr Hubby came back from one of his many work trips abroad, he put it together for Baby.  It took him almost four hours, then it was ready for play time.

It is very sturdy and the roof sections easily open and create these wonderful little seats.   You just lift the backrest and draw towards the middle and it creates a cover, once done on either side.  As it is made from KDI impregnated treated wood you don’t have to paint or treat the wood and so it is ready to play with straight away.  This was great news for us!

Then all we had to do was wait for it to stop raining for long enough for Baby to get out there and build some sandcastles.

O.K. so it looks like she didn’t want that bucket…..

There was lots of space in the sandpit, enough for another 3 little kiddies or a small furry dog!  Baby loved playing in her new sandpit and Lily enjoyed it too!

The groundsheet that comes with the kit, protects the sand and stops weeds growing through.  I would advise getting some sort of waterproof cover as the wooden slats will let the weather in.

I think Baby will enjoy playing in her sandpit throughout the year, on the less rainy days at least.

  1. this looks Like a great garden toy, I like how it has a lid and you can sit in it on benches. My two would love something like this as they adore playing in sand after spending lots of time at the beach in the summer xx
