Welcome to ‘The List‘, which is an amazing linky that I co-host with fabulous Hannah from Mums’ Days. The idea is simple, just link up any post that is in list/bullet point format, easy! (a few bullet points in a post is fine too!). I use mine to record my weekly highlights, but yours could be a ‘top ten’ list or anything you fancy. Posts can be old or new, all welcome.
This week I am linking 20 apps/tools to help your blog and Love Instagram? Join our #FierceLittleOnes community. Hannah is sharing Yoyo Dieting – How to break the cycle and Heavenly Herb and Garlic Butter.
We are also linking fall in love with your blog from our collaborative blog Live. Love. Blog.
My favourite posts from last week were;
Claire created Parenting badges for us all and they’re great!
I thought Fionnuala’s post on skills she has learned from being a parent was a fab read.
I loved Alison’s post about how to cope with stress, it was awesome.
Now time for my list;
REAL LIFE
- Baby and I enjoyed a night in a hotel last weekend, after a lovely afternoon with Amy and Rose.
- Baby has been in fancy dress for Children in Need at Nursery this week, so cute! She has been a witch and Princess Sophia.
- I am feeling pretty burned out and need to reassess some things in my life.
BLOG & SOCIAL MEDIA
- I am now a regular contributor to the #LivingArrows project, which I am thrilled about, as I love the project and have been joining in for almost two years.
- Amy and I have set up an Instagram community celebrating our gorgeous and fierce little ones. We would love it if you would all join in tagging your beautiful awesome kiddy shots with #LittleFierceOnes. We will show them love and share our favourites each week on our blogs.
- I reached 3k followers on Instagram.
- I dropped again in Tots100 (in the last 2 months I have dropped 9 places) despite running myself into the ground. I realise it is a measure against everyone else, so people have just done better than me, but it is a little soul destroying nonetheless. I need to find my worth regardless of this ranking.
- I have been sharing your list posts, so if you haven’t received a comment from me (I do even numbers!), I will have shared your post on Twitter. Just to try and give you a little more love, as we really do appreciate you joining in each week.
- My most popular blog post this week was; Blogger’s Christmas Wish List.
- My own favourite post this week was; Our special photoshoots. I just adore the pictures I took of Baby.
- New blog discovery: Cuddles and Cocktails
- Reviews I have shared: FG4 Kidswear.
So you know what do to, grab the badge and link up your lists. I can’t wait to have a read!

It was such a gorgeous afternoon, loved having you and Baby to tea. Shame Rose was not the hostess with the mostess 😉
You are fabulous darling and have achieved so much, I hope you know that. xxx

Thank you huni. I really appreciate your friendship xxx
I’m sorry you’re feeling burned out – it’s so clear as a reader (and friend!) that you’re taking on more and more each week. My advice would be to ‘reset’, stop and focus on what you love – and I think at the moment you’re getting a lot of joy from photography, which is awesome because you clearly have a brilliant talent for it too – win/win! I’m sure you have a massive To Do list to get through (my little list keeps me awake) but perhaps email and delay the deadline of the ones you can and give yourself some time out to enjoy Baby and photography. Even a few days might give you some clarity. Burnout is a big, big deal so don’t ignore it. PS (and this is tough love) I’m all for rankings and measuring my performance but they do not measure the full picture in blogging. Yes maybe they see how active you are on social media. sometimes they consider your readership levels but they can never measure the joy and personal reward you gain yourself. Stop thinking about where you are in the chart and think more about how much you’re enjoying blogging for yourself. If you’re not feeling 10/10 about it right now then think about how you can change that so you are again. What can you stop doing that you no longer like? What could free up a big chunk of time by putting it on old? Could a couple of weeks off from this linky give you a break? Ok, I’ll stop with the unsolicited coaching/advice now! From a friend and a reader perspective, I think you’re doing brilliantly but you need more time for yourself x x

Ah thanks so much for your wonderful comment Mim, you are a star. I find it so difficult to stop doing the things I always do, it’s like I think the world will fall apart if I don’t do XYZ. I put way too much pressure on myself, so hard to stop though. You are totally right of course. I need to make some changes, but I never seem to be able to actually make the changes. I am in the position where I have to earn from the blog, so it isn’t totally just for pleasure. Thank you hun xxx
Just don’t forget that you are your own boss but also your own employee too – you’re entitled to holidays for your own mental-well-being as much as anything else – even for a couple of days 🙂 x
Sorry you’re feeling burned out. I’m feeling very drained and overwhelmed by it all currently, & I clearly have nowhere near as much to do as you do! Hope you find a balance. x #thelist
Welcome to the “burned out” club! I wouldn’t worry too much about Tots100 ranking. There are other ways to measure influence. As for dressing up in costumes, please don’t get me started. The eldest goes ot school today dressed as BatGirl. Thanks for hosting #thelist

Thanks lovely. It is all in my head and I put way to much pressure on myself to do everything and be all things to all people. Need to give myself a break, but that it hard too! Batgirl sounds epic! x
Thanks s much for featuring me lovely. Please don’t stress about the Tots rankings. You have made so many huge achievements. I once made it into the top 500 but only briefly! I don’t take too much notice of it now, it’s emotionally draining! And honestly, your readers don’t care where you are ranked. xxx

Thanks so much Claire. It is so hard to change how we think isn’t it. You are really lovely, thanks x
We’ve all been there! I quite regularly feel burned out and I don’t take on half as much as you. Just important to take a step back sometimes and re-evaluate. Feel better xo
Author
Thanks huni. I do it to myself, just so hard to break the habit of just taking more and more on x
Sorry to hear you’re feeling burned out Aby, give yourself s break for a few days..the amount if blogging you do is amazing, a few days away from it won’t hurt. I really love your blog and so do so many others, try not to worry too much about tots 100. Hope you have a good weekend, thanks for hosting xx

Ah thank you so much, that does mean a lot. I am my own worst enemy and just take on more and more. I need to remember I am not superwoman! xx
My eldest has been dressing up all week at nursery too – he’s loved it! Thanks for hosting x
I’ve always been in awe of how you do everything that you do! I thought you must have a magic machine that gave you more hours in a day, you definitely deserve a break. It’s good to hear that you’re enjoying the photography, I’m looking forward to getting more into photography soon. Have a good (restful?) weekend! x
Hope you’re okay and can recharge soon. It is that time of year isn’t it?? Manic! Take a few days out to plan and think and enjoy your days. xx
Thanks for hosting 🙂 Jess xx
Blogging is tough going & you do so much I don’t know how you do it all! I had a big reassess a few weeks ago & I was feeling quite anxious. I still don’t have a schedule I’m happy with but I’m working on it. I’m glad you are taking a look to see what can be changed. Congrats on hitting 3k IG followers, that’s awesome! I just added #LittleFierceOnes – there are some great pics there! Thank you for hosting x
Ah that’s a bummer about Tots100 but you are still the big gun and awesome! Thanks as ever for hosting #TheList x

Thank you for hosting #TheList and please don’t doubt yourself. I can understand that a little set back can feel a lot bigger, when you are doing as well as you are, but your fab! Remember that x

Thanks lovely x
You should take care of yourself first and foremost. Burning yourself out will do you and your family no favours. I used to get stressed about rankings but life took an unexpected turn this year and I took a huge step back from the blog. And do you know what? It’s ok I may have dropped in the rankings but I am much more relaxed about it now that I’m picking it back up. Ratings are such a small part of the overall picture. Are you writing because you enjoy it or because you feel you are obligated to? I hope you can find a balance that eases the pressure on your time xx

Being burnt out is seriously not fun. Hope you find some balance where you need it 🙂
Thanks for hosting Abi. Turn out is a bugger! I don’t know how you do it to be honest!
Your blog is amazing and I went up on the Tots this month, but the past 2/3 months I went down. I find it is a fickle thing and you should be proud of what you do x
Author
Aww thank you so much, I really apprecuate your support and your words x
Thank you for hosting Aby. Sorry you’re feeling the pressure, but you should know your blog is fabulous, so informative, useful, interesting, funny… The list goes on. Your blogger tips are always incredibly useful and a good memory jog too. Hope you get a break and time to get your oomph back X

I really appreciate your lovely comment, thank you x
Thankfully our nursery did PJ day. Now both my boys are at nursery, finding two lots of dress up costumes would be hard work! Thanks for hosting!
Goodness you’re a busy bee. I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling burnt out. It’s a rubbish feeling, especially this close to Christmas (when I always find things busier than usual!).There’s a good article on burnout on Forbes, which might be worth a read.
Hope you’re able to find more balance. Thanks for hosting #TheList x
Author
Oh thanks, I will go and find it. x
Sorry to hear that you are feeling burned out and hope you are able to find some balance soon. I don’t know much about rankings, but you have a regular reader here!
I loved your bloggers christmas wish list btw, given me some ideas of things to ask for… for myself! Take care and perhaps try and have a change of scene for a day – I always find a day off in nature helps me to get thing back in perspective. x
Author
Thank you so much, that does mean a lot. I am glad you got some ideas x
Hope you manage to recharge soon. I am feeling similar. Hope you are having a nice weekend xx
Aby, you have such a lovely blog, and I know it’s hard not to look at the rankings and numbers and feel a bit tired at times. Figure out what you really want to do and do it well. Sometimes we are trying to keep up with some standard that is impossible. That’s when I step back and access. Look and see what spots are getting the best analytics and expand there, perhaps some things can be let go of. I feel badly that you are a bit burnt out, and I hope it gets better for you soon. BTW, loved the bloggers Christmas gift list, now off to find what apps and tools I can use. Breathe deep and enjoy! xx
