Checking In With My Polar Loop 2 Activity Tracker

A few months ago my sister-in-law and I started reviewing the Polar Loop 2 Activity trackers.  We have both been wearing them every day and so I thought I would share a little more about the trackers with you all.

The appearance of the Polar Loop 2 Activity Tracker is similar to other activity trackers on the market; a soft plastic moulded strap.  This is where the differences between the Polar Loop and its competitors start.  With the polar loop you measure your wrist and then cut the strap, refitting the metal buckle into each end of the strap to create a complete loop, as opposed to a standard watch design.  I won’t lie to you I was a little worried about cutting the strap, but I followed the instructions (carefully!) and it was so easy.  I did my sister-in-laws too as she was worried about wrecking it!  I suppose the only issue could be if you lose weight or put it back on and your wrist changes size.

Once you have fitted your Polar Loop 2, it’s time to set up your account on the Polar website, which is really easy; just enter your vital statistics, connect the tracker to your PC with the cable provided and it will sync to your computer.  You can set up the tracker to sync to apps like My Fitness Pal, to help monitor you calorie intake too.

The Polar Loop 2 will track calories burned, steps taken, sleep, restful sleep and stores it all in a diary for you. You can use the Polar 7 Heart Rate Monitor to monitor anaerobic fitness to give you a more accurate stats than using the band alone.

I find the charge lasts for around 3 days and the best time for me to charge it is when I am sitting at my laptop working. That way I am not missing out on it tracking either my movement or my sleep.

The only thing I have found, is a discrepancy between the Polar Loop 2 and a step tracking app on my phone. Obviously, this is not necessarily the Polar Loop 2 giving an inaccurate reading.

So far I am really enjoying using the Polar Loop and it’s helping me to stay motivated while I am training for the Marathon Moon Walk.

Polar Loop 2’s are a great option if you are looking to get fitter and make steps towards a healthier lifestyle.  I will post again a little nearer the moon walk with a training update.
